Tour at 17:00

In this trip we had the best weather conditions and the visibility was perfect.  We could see all the beautiful mountains in the distance and the sky was dramatic. We spotted few minke whales but they were quite shy individuals, didn´t show a lot of their bodies and didn´t want to come close to the boat very often, only 3 or 4 times around the trip. Although the whales weren´t cooperative, passengers had a nice and enjoyable sailing in wonderful weather.

We had still very good weather and the minke whales were even better than in the morning. They were all around the boat and everywhere to spot. Like this morning they spent much time at the surface and were clearly feeding. They came up underneath a flock of birds which is always fun to watch. On the way back to the harbour we spotted a small group of white-beaked dolphins. They weren't as cooperative as the minke whales, but maybe we were just spoiled by the nice behavour of the minke whales :-)  Again I would say that this was one of our very good tours this season!

The weather was fantastic this morning. Far out in Faxaflói bay we found an area with many many minke whales. I would guess that there were about 30 minke whales in the whole area. We managed to get some of them close to the boat. Most of them were feeding along with the birds. One minke whale was feeding there just underneath the surface and rolled on it side so its fluke came out of the water! Suddenly we spotted a few harbour porpoises. It was one of our very good tours!
