Tour at 20.30
We were very lucky with the weather once again where we headed out to Faxaflói bay. Our first minke whale popped up just few minutes after we left the harbour! What a great start of the tour. Then very soon we found more minke whales and lot of harbour porpoises together! Very nice combo and very close to the boat! We also found jumping white beaked dolphins! They were very nice swimming under the boat and coming up very close to us! On our way back home we spotted more white beaked dolphins and harbour porpoises. Amazing sighting! At Akurey, the puffin Island, we saw a lot of puffins sitting around the island. Birds seen on tour: Puffins, fulmars, black back gulls, kittiwakes, shags, artic scuas, guillemots
Tour at 17:00 What an amazing tour. First thousands of Puffins on Akurey (Puffin Island) and then Minke Whales and Harbour Porpoises surfacing all around the boat later on in the tour. So close to the boat on occasion too. Both species surfacing less than 10 meters from us. Absolutely fantastic. Definitely a tour to remember!

The weather was still being very nice when we headed out to Akurey to see the puffins. We saw many thousands of puffins today so it was a very nice start of the tour. Then it did not take us a long time to find our first Minke whale. Suddenly there came more of them and at a moment we were surrounded by both minke whales and harbour porpoises. The captain shut down the engine of the boat so we could both see them and hear them all around us. Very nice tour in a beautiful weather!
