Tour at 17:00

Another succesful trip. We began by sailing out quite far, and once we were out there we spotted the blow of a Humpback whale. Throughout the trip we saw lots of Minke whales and also some white-beaked dolphins which were even breaching for us! We saw the Humpback coming up a few times, and towards the end of the trip we got a really close look at the whale, and it raised its flukes very high and very close to us. At this point we turned the boat back towards Reykjavík, and made a short stop at the puffin island Akurey. There are still puffins on the island, but they will be leaving us soon.

Report from Hafsúlan: Great weather today and nice calm sea. We found an area where there were many Minke whales surfacing all around us, and got a call from our other boat Elding. They told us they had a Humpback whale close to their boat so we sailed for a few miles to where they were but when we got there the Humpback was gone, unfortunately. But we spotted some white-beaked dolphins on the way, and plenty more Minke whales. A successful trip :)
