Tour at 20:30
Best tour I've seen this summer. We first found a small pod of Harbour Porpoises but they didn't stay with us long. We then found a pod of at least 15-20 scattered White-beaked Dolphins jumping, breaching, head slapping the waters surface. They must have been feeding by watching the behaviour and all the Gannets in the area diving from heights of 20-30m. The most Gannets I've seen this summer. If that wasn't enough after a while we went looking for a Minke Whale and we found two. One of which came within 2meters from us. Absolutely Amazing Tour!!

As the sun starts to become lower in the sky the light on Faxaflói's surroundings were beautiful. Really nice to see the summer has finally arrived. We started at Puffin Island and not so many Puffins but there was a couple chilling out on the waters surface but lets hope the Puffins are in their burrows laying those eggs. We then headed out offshore and saw many Minke Whales. One even came within 20 meters from us. Unfortunately no other species on this tour but amazing Minkes. Great Tour!!

The weather was amazing when we headed out this wonderful afternoon. At the puffin island we saw 4 puffins....well better then nothing :) But very soon in our tour we saw our first minke whale! It was coming really close to the boat, and even surface feeding just in front of us!!! WOW! We followed that minke whale for some time and at the same time we saw at least three other minke whales around us! We had two whales just in front of the boat just feeding there and coming up 1 meter away from us! What amazing tour in a beautiful weather! Incredible!

The Puffins at Akurey were mostly out in the bay hunting for sandeel when we paid their island a visit at the beginning of the tour. But those which were there circled around our boat at very close distance and we could see their colourful beaks very well. After only 15 minutes of sailing into the bay we met our first Minke whale which stayed with us for really long. In 20 minutes it did not take a single deep dive and kept resurfacing really close!! A really interactive animal.. After bidding farewell to this curious fellow, we checked out a flock of birds and got surrounded by at least 4 Minke whales as well as Harbour Porpoises!! Two species and lots of them, beautiful sunshine. Perfect tour!

The sun was still shining when we headed out to Akurey to visit the puffins. Many puffins at home this nice morning so we had a good start of the tour. Then we spotted our first minke whale! But very soon we saw at two other minke whales, so 3 of them were in the same area! Very nice to have them in front of us and later on we spotted two more minke whales! So all in all at least 5 whales in this tour! Very nice tour.

Beautiful day to go whale watching. Clear blue skies, calm sea conditions and great visibility. We started at Akurey to see the Puffins and then headed further offshore to find the whales. We must have seen at least 10-15 Minke Whales on this tour. They seemed to be surfacing everywhere. One Minke even surfaced just 20 meters from our boat. Lots of flocks of birds today too which indicates a lot of fish about. Really great tour!!
