Tour at 17:00

Again we found the Humpback whale which was always close to the boat, often coming up and rolling about. It showed us its flippers a few times and its flukes too!! The whole time that we stayed with this Humpback whale we always had lots of Minke whales around. We also had lots of birds feeding around us. Always flying just above the Humpback was a group of Kittiwakes, and we could even tell where the whale was about to surface if we just followed the birds! Lots of sunshine this afternoon and a little bit of wind, especially on the way back!

Tour at 13:00

Hafsúla, Elding and Elding II: The wind picked up a bit in the afternoon but we still had very good weather. We soon found a few minke whales, they all were travelling and rather fast swimming. Then suddenly we spotted a huge splash in the distance and again and again and again! This must have been a breaching humpback whale! We sailed there and found again some minke whales, this time they were feeding at the surface! Then suddenly we saw a blow! We found the humpback whale! And it was the same as we had in the morning and it was as funny to watch as in the morning. It didn't mind to have the boats around it, no, it was just busy with feeding! It came very often to the surface with an open mouth and rolled around, showed us its huge belly and the white long flippers! This was like in the morning one of our best tours this season!!!

Tour at 9:00

Hafsúlan and Elding: The weather was fantastic on this tour, the sun was shining, no clouds and calm sea. But it wasn't just the weather making us happy - it was also the sightings. We were lucky enough to be able to observe a humpback whale feeding in the surface for a very long time. It was really, really exciting. It didn't seem to mind the presence of the boats at all, and it kept surfacing, again and again really close to us, while it was feeding. The passengers were really happy and the crew none the less. In the same area as the feeding humpback whale there were also several minke whales... Fantastic tour! :-D
