Tour at 13:00

The wind looked as though it picked up a little in this tour but some of the passengers seemed to be enjoying the swells and at the end of the tour became professionals at stabling themselves in rough sea and enjoying the ride. Again it took us a little while to spot the whales but a big slash was seen and so we slowed the boat done, then the passengers were pointing out in to the distance and yes there was the Minke Whale surfacing 3 more times and giving the passengers a great look. This Minke then disappeared so we headed further offshore. We spotted a blow and saw the Minke once in the swell but not a again. Then a little while longer the passengers saw a Minke surface 3 times only 30-50 meters from our boat, came out of nowhere. We ended the tour by going to Akurey and saw loads of Puffins sitting outside their borrows. Bird we saw out at sea were, Skuas, Arctic Terns, Fulmars, Kittiwakes, Gannets, Gulls, Guillemots, Razorbills and Puffins. Looking forward to the weather calming down but not at all a bad tour.

Tour at 9:00

Again the wind was quite strong and sea rough but the sun was nice and warm. Both Hafsúlan and Elding went out and looked at the Puffin Island, Akurey, at the start of the tour and saw loads of Puffins, Eider Ducks, Geese Gulls, Fulmars and Kittiwakes. It took us a little while before we found our first Minke Whale and we only saw the blow. Hafsúlan saw a small pod of Harbour Porpoises but Elding was unlucky and didn´t see them. Hafsúlan was also lucky at seeing a couple of Minkes surfacing a few of times less than 100 meters from the boat. Elding saw about 2 or 3 Minkes but only the blow and the waves seemed to find the body and dorsal fin. We saw loads of birds out at sea, Skuas, Arctic Terns, Fulmars, Kittiwakes, Gannets, Gulls, Guillemots, Razorbills and Puffins too. Let’s see what tomorrow brings ;)
