Tour at 20.30

We headed to Akurey again and saw some puffins on and around the island this very nice afternoon. Then our whale watching tour began. We spotted a blow in a distance, but we could not see the whale, so we headed further out to look for something else. Again we spotted a blow but we could not see the animal again. So no luck with the whales but we were very lucky with the weather! We offered our passenger complimentary tickets.

Tour at 17:00

The weather was still very nice when headed out to Akurey to visit the puffins. We saw some hundreds of them around the island and we could take a good look at them. Then we headed out to search for the whales! We found our first minke whale early in the tour. Again we saw lot of feeding birds in the area and the whales were also feeding around, and after only few minuets we saw more minke whales, 4 or 5 of them at least feeding together. They were in a very good whale watching mood this lovely afternoon! On our way back we spotted a big group of harbour porpoises jumping out of the water for some time just in front of us! What a nice surprise at the end of a very nice tour!

Tour at 13:00

The sun was shining and we headed straight out to Akurey to visit the puffins. There were many puffins at home today so we could all take a nice look at them. Then we went out to search for the whales. It did not take us a long time to find our first minke whale, then only few minuets later we found more minke whales! There were lot of feeding birds around so we knew there was lot of whale food in the area, and yes 4 minke whales were spotted around the birds! Lunge feeding, rolling in the surface and going under the boat! So amazing tour!

Tour at 09:00 We headed out in a warm and sunny weather this morning. The sea was also really calm , so all together great whale watching conditions. First we went to Akurey and saw a lot of puffins flying above the island and also some Eider Ducks and Arctic Terns. When we headed out to the whale watching area, it took us some time to spot the first Minke Whale but then we had 3 to 4 together in one area. Also the bird life was quite lively this morning. We spotted some flocks of feeding birds. Later this tour we went also to another whale watching area and spotted another Minke Whale who surfaced a few times close to the boat, before the time ran out and we had to head back to the harbour. Really good start!
