  • CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Today's whale watching tours from Reykjavík is ON SCHEDULE! Remember to dress according to weather and feel free to borrow our thermal overalls if needed!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: This morning we truly had all the seasons just within 3 hours! We started with a little hail, then experienced the Icelandic wind and then later in the tour even had a full snow storm! Our efforts were successful though because over the whole trip we saw 4 humpback whales. As we were approaching Hafnarfjörður, we spotted our first blow of a solo humpback right next to a buoy but very soon after we saw more a little further ahead. After seeing the closer whale go for a fluke dive, we carried on to the other whales. Here we found a pair, the same ones as yesterday, still feeding together under some birds. While we were watching these our fourth individual suddenly popped up as well! This one was also feeding but separately from the pair. We were able to watch all three of them from the same position. The solo whale also surprised us with a couple of close encounters too! Surfacing right next to the boat so we could see its whole body! Despite the snow storm while we were with the whales, everyone really enjoyed our tour!

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00

Report from Eldey: We headed out with partial sunshine and some snow clouds coming in. It only snowed for about 5-10 minutes and then the sun fought it's way back out. When we reached Hafnarfjördur we saw a Humpback Whale in the distance, but decided to go to the 2 Humpback Whales we have seen on the previous tour. Which was a good decision, because they were lunge feeding, which is a sight, that you only know from National Geographic documentaries. We witnessed this behavior for a while, but as always, all good things must come to an end, so we had to leave. The sun was our companion for the way back.
