Tour at 17:00

We started the tour in Akurey with the Puffins before we headed out to Faxaflói. The wind had been picking up when we were heading back from the 13:00 tour so we expected it to be pretty windy again, but when we got out to Faxaflói to our surprise the wind had gone so much down and the sea looked pretty calm and there was only some leftovers from the swell that had been during the day. And only after sailing for about 30 minutes we found a flock of feeding birds, the first flock of feeding birds we had seen all day, so we turned the boat towards these birds and right under the birds we spotted a Minke Whale. First it only came up surfacing normally and then it started making some notice and splashes. When we got to the area we were able to follow that Minke Whale for almost 20 minutes, it didn't deep dive for too long and surfaced several times before the deep dive. Later on we then spotted two other Minke Whales. Brilliant ending the day with these nice Minke Whales.

Tour at 13:00

We began this tour with the stop in Akurey and the Puffins were still there doing their game along with their friends the Kittiwakes and the Lesser-black Backed Gull. We then headed out to Faxaflói where we spotted some Gannets, Guillemots, Fulmars, Arctic Terns and Arctic Skuas. When we got out to Faxaflói we first spotted one Minke Whale, this whale only surfaced once and went straight for a deeper dive and we lost it. But we kept on searching and another Minke Whale was spotted, it was a bit far away but when we got to the area it surfaced again several times pretty close to the boat before it went for a deep dive and swam away from us.

Tour at 09:00

It was a bit windy today when we headed out, we headed straight out to Faxaflói. There were not many birds around and after a long search we spotted first a dorsal fin and then few seconds later the Minke Whale surfaced again and we could clearly see the blow from the whale when it came up. But then it went for a deeper dive and we didn't find it again. So we headed on, soon there were more birds around; we spotted the Arctic Skua chasing the Arctic Tern for its catch. Among other birds we spotted were Fulmars, Kittiwakes, Guillemots, Puffins, and a Gannet. Later during the tour we found a pod of White-beaked Dolphins at first they were being very difficult but then they started swimming around the boat at under it, was very good. On the way back we stopped by Akurey to see the Puffins colony.
