CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 1300

Report from Eldey: We set out into Faxaflói Bay, and honestly, the place looked magical with all the snow surrounding us. The whole bay just had that peaceful winter vibe, and I couldn't wait to see what the ocean had in store for us. About half an hour in, we finally caught our first blow of the day! It was a humpback whale, but this one was a bit of a lazy swimmer. It wasn’t fluking right away, but after a few moments, it surprised us and started fluking a couple of times. It was definitely keeping us on our toes, though, constantly changing direction. My guess? It was probably feeding. We moved on to see if we could catch a glimpse of something else, and sure enough, we spotted a couple more blows in the distance. We cruised over to check them out, and boom, there were two humpbacks feeding together! Seeing them so close, working in sync, was incredible! All in all, it was such a perfect afternoon. We got lucky with the whales, the weather was stunning, and just being out there in the middle of it all was unforgettable.
