CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: In this very sunny and calm morning we sailed out and enjoyed the perfect conditions. After some time we found a minke whale that was a bit tricky to follow so we headed further out in the bay. We spotted a blow and approached carefully. It was Davy Jones II, a well known humpback whale for us. It was feeding and then calmed down and seemd very chill. Within that area there was also a pod of about 4 white beaked dolphins that seemed to be feeding as well.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: Sailing out again this afternoon, we were hoping to reiterate this mornings' experience. Quite quickly, we re-encountered our firndly Davy Jones 2nd, a humpback whale seen throughout the last days and in the last couple of years. Always showing uncanny behavior when seen, it did not dissapoint, coming close to our boats and others, spy hoping showing its rostrum with its head first and overall being calm and slow with our presence, great for us to have plenty to see. As we headed further out to find new things, we found 4 minke whales feeding in the same area, but all where very deviant and hard to spot consecutively, making it a real hide-and-seek. Before going back home, we decided to go have one last look at Davy Jones: it really paid off, as it came centimeters from the boat for several minutes, before passing by right under us and fluke diving us goodbye, to finish our tour on a grand note.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 17:00

Report from Eldey: We came out once again into Faxafloi Bay, the winding picking up slightly but still with great conditions. We soon knew we were once again going to find our friendly Davy jones 2nd, a humpback whale well known, as we saw hefty blows in the distance. Staying with it for a long time, we had the time to see from very close, fluking and rolling meters away from the boat. We decided to leave it for a while, and to find another sighting, sadly without any luck apart from 2 fast minke whales that we couldn't keep with. As we headed back home, we encountered our friendly humpback again, to see it dive a couple of times before finishing our day on this high point.
