Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tour. Make sure to dress according to weather, as it is usually colder at sea than on land.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: before the tour started, we had a lot of snow, covering the boat again with a thin layer of it. But! We started our tour and the weather was incredible during the whole afternoon, even with an amazing sunshine very strong on our faces! What a lovely afternoon it was indeed: we sailed out to the same area where we've been seeing the whales for a month now and after just a couple of minutes we spotted the first blow! We had a humpback whale around. Very calmly, this whale was shining with the strong sun glare we had for a while. Popping up quite close sometimes and predictably. Also, the amount of grey seals around, made us busy and entertained while waiting for the whale come back from a deeper dive, there was about 15 during the tour. Even extremely close to the humpback, the seals were very curious and rolling on the surface. We decided to leave this spot and see if we could find something else and, a few minutes later, we found another humpback. This beautiful individual, with this mottling pattern all over its back was coming so close, that was hard not to have our jaws dropped. How exciting! We went to take a loop to see what else was there in the bay and we spotted a pod of 6 harbour-porpoises, very predictably popping up and feeding. Coming back to the "mottling" humpback, we watched in silence when this whale now was sleeping, logging on the surface, very very slow. We then went back to the harbour, happy with the amazing sightings of our favorite animals today.
