CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: They sky was clear, the wind was calm and the waves sleepy, a non Icelandic day awaited us to go whale-watching! After some 20 minutes we spotted a blow close to Esja, that went off twice and disappeared quite fast. We waited and good fortune came to us, as a humpback whale came up to breathe not too far from us. It began traveling along the shore, sometimes going too close to land on shallower waters so we had to be careful. It eventually did a very whaly thing, a beautiful fluke dive! We decided to check the area a bit more, because on the previous days we had seen more than one whale. Unfortunately, that never came to fruition, but we had found our humpback again! Happy to see us, it did another fluke dive and we went back to the harbour with frozen toes but warm hearts.
