Tour at 17:00

The weather was better now than this morning, but still a bit windy. We didn't have to sail as far out as then and we found an area with many feeding seabirds and several feeding minkes. They were surfacing all around, but many of them deep dived and were hard to spot again. Therefore it was lucky for us that there were many minkes in the area :-)

The whales moved closer again in the afternoon and like this morning we found several minke whales surrounded by many feeding birds. We sailed very slowly through the area and got to watch many minke whales and some of them even surfaced close to the boat!

We had to go far out in Faxaflói bay to find an area with many minke whales. The wind there was quite strong, but we could manage to get a few of the minke whales closer to the boat. There were many many birds feeding there, too and the minke whales fed together with the birds.  There were much more whales in the area because we could see everywhere a blow!
