Today's whale watching tour is on schedule from Reykjavík this afternoon! Remember to dress according to weather and feel free to borrow our thermal overalls if needed!
CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 1300
Report from Eldey: As we set off today it was very windy with a bit of snow around too. After sailing past Viðey and into this strong easterly wind we spotted a blow from our first of 3 humpback whales! We also saw 2 grey seals in this area too. For the first half of the tour we watched just the 1 humpback. It was feeding a lot, surrounded by many birds too. It would surface very regularly. Then after a while we noticed the other blows from a pair of humpbacks. They dived for much longer and travelled much further as well. But when they did come up they stayed up for a while meaning we always got a great look at them before they fluke dived. We then headed back home past the first whale. We then all headed inside to warm up after this great but cold tour.
