Tour at 17.00

Sadly we had to cancel this tour due to strong winds out on Faxaflói Bay since safety is our number one priority.

Tour at 13.00

(Report from Hafsúlan): we started by taking a look at Lundey, 'the other' puffin island close to Reykjavik, Akurey being our more frequent stop due to more closeness to both Reykjavik Harbour and the main whale search area. There were not too many Puffins present but we would see a number of them out at sea throughout the tour so the Puffin lovers among the passengers (but who doesn't love Puffins!) were no doubt content. Afterwards we sailed out to the windy and rainy Faxaflói Bay and everyone kept their eyes out for whales in the hope for a good tour whale-wise. Sadly, however, no whales, dolphins or porpoises were seen on the tour. As showing people whales is our passion and our desire is to have our passengers leave happy, we gave everyone a complimentary ticket that is good for two years.

Tour at 09.00

(Report from Hafsúlan): we started the fun by stopping by Akurey for some Puffin watching. The island was covered with the joyful birds and everyone seemed very pleased with the sighting. Afterwards we sailed off into the bay and it took us some 40-50 minutes before we spotted our first Minke Whale. All in all we saw 3-4 Minke Whales on this trip but the best thing was that often it was at such close distances (20-30 meters) that we could hear the blow well and clear. The backs and the dorsal fins were also well visible and it was always the same thrill to see the whale go down in a nice, slow motion so that everyone got a good view and photos could be taken. Quite a successful tour it was!
