Tour at 20.30

The wind had picked up a little bit but the weather was still fantastic, sunny and nice. At Akurey we saw many puffins so that was a good start of the tour. Then we found our first minke whale about 300 meters away, but it only came up once before going for a deeper dive. Soon after that we found very nice pod of jumping porpoises, again! Very very nice to see that. But suddenly people were pointing in all directions and we did not know where to look! Minke whales and porpoises all around us! What a great tour in the midnight sun!

Tour at 17:00

In a very nice weather we headed out to Akurey to see the puffins. Many puffins at home this afternoon so a great start of the tour. Then only after few minuets we found our first minke whale! It came up few hundred meters away from us and only once. But we headed to that direction and on the way we found very nice jumping harbour porpoises!!!! So nice to see them jumping just in front of us! Among the porpoises we saw at least 4 minke whales and 2 of them very close!!! So all in all a very nice tour in a beautiful weather!

Tour at 14:00

Once again calm seas, clear blue skies and great whales. We started at Puffin Island Akurey and there were thousands flying around and sitting on the waters surface nearby. Then we headed out into Faxaflói and it wasn't long before we found our first Minke Whale. We stayed with it for a little while before heading further offshore to find not only another Minke Whale but also a small pod of White-beaked Dolphins. The Minke was great and we got some close encounters with this one and the one previous. The Dolphins were a little bit more elusive but still they were great to watch. On the way back to the harbour we also found another Minke Whale and another small pod of White-beaked Dolphins. Excellent Tour!!

Tour at 13:00

The weather was the same, sunny and no wind when we sailed out again this afternoon. On this tour we spotted a group of harbour porpoises, white beaked dolphins and 3-5 minke whales. The porpoises were shy, dolphins were nice and two of the minke whales came very close to our boat, 15 meters. One the way back we visited he puffin island Akurey and spotted lots of puffins. So all together very nice tour. Tour at 10:00 What a beautiful day, perfect whale watching conditions. We started at Akurey Puffin Island and there were thousands, flying so close to the boat too. Then we headed out to where the other Whale Watching vessels were but we didn't have to go that far because out of nowhere we had 3 Minke Whales surfacing in front of us. At different times and distances of course but whales all to ourselves. One whale even surfaced just 20 meters from our boat. They started to scatter after a while so we headed further offshore and found not only a small pod of White-beaked Dolphins but a surface feeding Minke Whale right under a flock of feeding seabirds. Absolutely amazing!

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafúlan: The weather was beautiful when we headed out this morning. Lots of puffins at Akurey (puffin island). After sailing for some time we spotted a pod of harbour porpoises, very nice pod and few minutes later a blow from a minke whale further away. When we came closer we saw at least 6-8 minke whale were in the area feeding, all around us. Three of them came so close surfacing slowly only 10 meters from us so all our passengers could have a good look at them. Tour at 09:00 Sunshine, calm waters and an exceptionally good view on the distant Snæfellsnes peninsula provided a beautiful background for this tour. It took some time to find the whales but once we did, they did not disappoint us. Some Harbour porpoises as well as 3-4 different Minke whales surfaced around our boat for a long time. One Minke whale particularly liked to show off his beautiful back and blow, surfacing repeatedly in front of picturesque Snæfellsjökull. A really enjoyable morning at sea for all passengers - and the crew!
