Tour at 20:30

We sailed straight out to Faxaflói bay in a beautiful weather, early on we spotted a blow in the distance but didn't find it again so we headed on. After a while we spotted our first minke whale, surfaced 3 times before disappearing. The blows from the whales tonight were just beautiful in the sun, very clear and obvious to see. In total we were looking at 6-8 minke whales, some very nice but others surfaced further away and only few times. We had a beautiful sunset on the way home, and all of a sudden on the way home a minke whale jumped out of the water only 10 meters away, just amazing, than surfaced two times again further away before he was gone. Than we stopped by Akurey, were we saw many puffins. Overall a very nice tour.

Tour at 17:00

We headed out this evening in a really sunny weather, straight to the whale watching area. Pretty soon we spotted the Harbour Porpoises surfacing some time. Later on we spotted also some Minke Whales in different whale watching areas. All together we spotted 4 to 5 different Minke Whales sometimes surfacing quite close to the boat. But the real highlight on this tour was the Humpback Whale we spotted on our way back to the harbour. We saw it first quite far away but could get closer. We spotted big splashes, a huge blow and then finally also the Humpback Whale surfacing The whale surfaced sometime and also showed the fluke. It was a grandious and amazing tour with a big surprise in the end.

Tour at 14:00

The visibility was perfect on this tour. We started by visiting the many puffins in Akurey. Then we sailed on for about 40 minutes until we spotted a Minke whale just 5 meters from the boat. We stopped the boat immediately to have a look at this beautiful Minke whale. It came up very often, close to the boat. We spotted 4 other Minke whales on the tour, one of them a cute calf with a mother. The passengers left the boat with a big smile.

Tour at 13:00

It was still a bit misty in the harbour and around the puffin island Akurey when we headed out this afternoon. We spotted lots of puffins around the island. Out in the bay the fog/mist was gone and the weather was beautiful, calm sea and sunny. And the whales were fabulous. Many minke whales where spotted, surfacing very close to our boat and a gorgeous pod of harbour porpoises crossed our path, swimming all around the boat again and again only 5-10 meters away so we could see them very clearly underneath the water surface. We spent some time with them until they left fast swimming. Fantastic tour.

Tour at 10:00

During this tour we were surrounded by heavy fog so the visibility wasn't the best. In spite of that we were able to spot 2 really good Minke Whales that came close to the boat several times. We could see them under the surface, swimming under the boat and coming up on the other side with the snout first. Throughout the tour we also saw many pods of Harbour Porpoises, breaching out of the water giving us a spectacular show. We also spotted a group of White Beaked Dolphins but they disappeared quickly. The puffin Islands was foggy but we still managed to have a good look at the puffins. Beautiful tour in mystical weather.

Tour at 09:00

When we headed out this morning then we couldn't see more then 30 meters from the boat because we had so much mist in the bay. First we went to Akurey and watched the puffins and then we headed straight out. We spotted a pod of Harbour Porpoises and later on we found a big flock of feeding birds and there also a Minke Whale. We could follow it for quite some time before we went further out. After some time we found the seabirds again and another Minke Whale, the same we spotted also yesterdays and in the last few summers. We can say that because we have often researchers on board, who work with Photo-ID and can identification the whales because of their dorsal fins. On our way back we spotted the nice Harbour Porpoises again. Great tour with creepy charmed because of the misty atmosphere, Special!
