Tour 17:00

We headed out this afternoon, and were able to spot quite a few Minke whales. Some were very easy to watch but others a little more tricky. We also spotted a group of dolphins which was a little difficult to follow. All of a sudden it seemed that the Gannets had come out of nowhere! There were really a lot of Gannets flying about the bay, which we hadn't seen all day!

Tour 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan:  Another excellent tour out in Faxaflói bay. Still on Lundey we had a lot of Puffins flying all around, sign that the birds are all still here and then out in the bay the whales were many, too. Still plenty of Minke whales, everywhere, lots of Big adults and a few young ones, too. Some passed very close to our boat sometimes even less than 50 meters.

Report from Elding: Again the weather was perfect and still the Minke whales were around. We didn't have quite as much bird life as this morning but there were plenty of Minke whales around and even one small calf! We also spotted a group of Harbour porpoises which is always really nice, they are so cute!

Tour 9:00

Report from Hafsúlan: It was a very good tour today. The sea conditions were perfect since the sea was very flat and there was almost no wind. We sailed to Akurey first the Puffin Island then straight to the whales. Out in the bay we spotted a lot of Minke whales today. There were more than 15 the one we could see with our naked eyes and a lot more were too far out to reach! Plenty of fish we could even see it from the boat, large school of small fish and the whales were very actively feeding. Lunge feeding, rolling and it was excellent to observe the all thing!

Report from Elding: A beautiful day today! We had really flat sea and lots to observe. There were many Minke whales around and many groups of birds feeding. The birds and the Minke whales are often feeding in association with each other and we had a perfect display of this today. We could see the sand-eels flying up from the surface and the whale coming up after the fish.
