Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tour. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00

Report from Eldey: Today the seas were a bit choppier and the wind was blowing quite a bit. We packed ourselves with overalls and we were ready to set sail on this cloudy but still beautiful winter day. Watching the many snowy mountains around us, we also spotted many species of seabirds, even big flocks of eider ducks sitting on the surface and cormorants flying around. Covering many areas and keeping in touch with other whale watching boats, we worked as a team and each other went to a different direction in the bay. Unfortunately, no one could spot any sign of whales or dolphins in the bay this afternoon so we decided to give out complimentary tickets so the passengers can come back and have a different experience with us!

Birds encountered in the bay today included:

Eider duck, great cormorant, herring gull, razorbill, Northern fulmar, black-legged kittiwake, Icelandic gull, great black-backed gull, lesser black-backed gull
