Tour at 17:00

First we headed out to Lundey and spotted a lot of puffins this evening. Afterwards we went straight out to the whale watching area. First we spotted a blow and then also the Minke Whale. We could follow this whale for quite some time before we saw big splashes and a huge blow. We headed further out to find this animal from which the blow came and spotted a really big Minke Whale surfacing two times really close to the boat. After that we went to another area and found some White Beaked Dolphins and also a Minke Whale again. And finally on our way back we spotted a Minke Whale calve surfacing amazingly close to the boat, about 10 meters and came with the whole head out of the water - really curious this Minke and a really really good tour!

Tour at 14:00

Our first stop at this tour was in Akurey. There were many thousands of puffins flying in a big black cloud around the island, very impressing. After this lovely visit we sailed out to Faxaflói and spotted a really good Minke Whale which came very often close to the boat. We were able to hear and smell the breath of the whale (the blow) which was very pleasing. Later on we spotted a group of feeding seabirds like gannets and seagulls. There were so much fish in this area so it was a very promising one. Soon we saw 2 minke Whales in front of the boat, just 15 meters from the boat. They were surface feeding so we managed to see many interesting parts of the whale, like the fluke, head, belly and side flippers, both underwater and on the surface. It was absolutely amazing, both for passengers as for the crew. Breath taking tour!

Tour at 13:00

It was little bit windy when we sailed out this afternoon. After sailing for some time we spotted our first minke whale and soon the next one, feeding with a flock of birds. The minke came up on the side one time, surface feeding. We found at least 4-6 minke whales in the same area with lots of gannets and other birds. Also one pod of harbour porpoises showed up and put on a good show for us, fast swimming they came up in the waves, and coming very close so we cold see them clearly. We stayed with them for at least 20-30 minutes because it was difficult to leave this nice pod of harbour porpoises. On the way back we visited the puffins at Akurey. Very nice tour.

Tour at 10:00

We sailed straight out to Faxaflói bay and spotted a nice Minke Whale. This minke whale was really good individual and came many times very close to us. Soon a group of Harbour Porpoises showed up not far away from the minke whale. We managed to observe them for few minutes until they disappeared. Later on we spotted around 6 minke whales. All of them were curious about us and showed up many times. Bravo for the Minke Whales! We topped the trip by visiting Lundey, the Puffin Island were we saw many birds.

Tour at 09:00

We headed straight out to our whale watching area this morning. Short after we reached it we found some Minke Whales all in the same area. We also spotted a flock of feeding birds and a Minke Whale which surfaced under the birds and also quite close to the boat. We saw always some Minke Whales the whole tour but especially the last one came really close to the boat and surfaced just 2 meters from us. The whale also surfaced quite often always really close. At the end of our tour we went to Lundey and watched the puffins for a while. Great tour!
