Tour at 17:00
Now the wind had picked up when we headed out to Faxaflói. After some time we spotted a minke whale in the waves. This minke came up 6-7 times for us and sometimes only 40 meters away from us! Then this one swam away and we had to search a big area. No more whales today, but a good minke whale in the beginning of the tour.
Tour at 14:00
This tour was almost copy paste from the morning tour. The wind was still blowing and we spotted a minke whale in the beginning of the tour. It was difficult to approach this minke so we had to go further out. After a long search we finally found few minke whales feeding in the same area, and lot of diving gannets too! Again very nice to see all the gannets and these minke whales!
Tour at 13:00
It was a bit windy when we headed out to Faxaflói this afternoon. It took us some time to find the whales this time. Then finally we spotted a blow from a minke whale and in the same area we saw at least 4-5 minke whales, some of them came close, 40 meters, others surfaced further away. One pod of harbour porpoises crossed out path and we could follow them for some time. So, very nice tour.
Tour at 09:00
We headed out in a windy weather to search for the whales. After some time we spotted our first minke whale. It was difficult to follow that whale and soon we lost sight of it, so we headed further out. After a long long search we finally saw lot of diving gannets, and in the same area we saw 4-5 minke whales! This was really nice to see them all and some of them were very close to us! Nice ending of the tour.
