Report from Eldey: What an incredible day out on the water! The sun was shining bright, there was no swell, and barely any wind—ideal conditions for a whale watching adventure. After setting sail, it didn’t take long for us to spot a blow in the distance. We headed over and were greeted by a super active humpback whale, busy feeding. It was so fascinating to watch as the whale dove deep, bringing up clouds of fish to the surface. Surrounding the whale were a few curious seals, as well as some birds, likely trying to snatch a bite of the fish the whale was stirring up. The whole scene felt so alive, with everything working in harmony. The whale’s movements were mesmerizing, and we were lucky enough to get a close-up view as it surfaced and dove again. All in all, it was an amazing day in Faxafloi Bay—calm, beautiful weather, and plenty of wildlife to keep everyone captivated. It’s days like these that make whale watching so special!
