Tour at 17:00

The wind had picked up a little bit and the sea was choppy out on the bay. We were however lucky again and found an area with many feeding birds and many minke whales that surfaced all around the boat, both close to us and far away. We had one particularly good sighting when a minke approached us and we could see it swimming under the surface. We could see the white belly, the back and the fluke under the surface. There were also some feeding strikes in the tour when we could see splashes from a surfacing minke whale right under a flock of feeding birds. Nice!

The afternoon tour was as nice as the morning tour. Again we found many feeding minke whales. One minke whale came particularly close to the boat and surfaced many times so close to the boat that we could see its shadow underneath the surface. I guess it was curios and had a look at our boat!

Tour at 9:00

This was a fantastic morning tour! Far out in Faxaflói bay we found an area with many feeding birds and a lot of minke whales! At the end of the tour we had surely about four to six minke whales close to the boat. They were feeding there and didn´t mind to have a boat around. They just kept on surfacing around the boat! A very nice tour!
