Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 09:00 and 13:00  Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00

Report from Eldey: It was a windy day in the bay but not strong enough to deceive us from trying to see some whales. Very close to Engey, we saw a black object and we couldn't decipher what it was until we got closer. Turns out it was a small zodiac with 4 surfers trying to catch some waves at a breakpoint very close to the island, a very odd finding. Continuing our journey we went a tad closer to the cruise ship harbour and saw a bunch of birds gathered in the same area, a good sign for us! The course was set to investigate this situation and a blow was seen followed by a dark body, a whale!! It was our buddy the resident humpback whale Flak!! She was very busy feeding and probably didn't even notice us, as she was doing amazing lunges to the surface in order to get some snacks. We were in awe watching this whale coming super close to us, going away and back again, it wasn't even necessary to move the boat, we just stood there watching a gentle giant do its thing. The wind picked up quite a bit and the time was upon us, so we left Flak alone and sailed back home.
