CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00

Report from Eldey- We set sail on a brisk but beautiful morning, greeted by breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains and the view of the moon and the sunrise. The excitement aboard our nearly full boat was palpable as we headed out in search of magnificent whales. After about 30 minutes, we spotted a minke whale gliding swiftly by, seemingly in a hurry as it pursued something intriguing beneath the surface. Just 15 minutes later, on the way to Akranes, we were treated to a stunning sight: three majestic humpback whales swimming gracefully together in perfect harmony. They swim close to our boat, delighting everyone onboard as they playfully moved back and forth. As our time with these incredible creatures drew to a close, our guests were filled with joy and gratitude for the unforgettable marine adventure. We made our way back to Reykjavik, reflecting on what a truly lovely morning it had been.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00

Report from Eldey: With sunshine over the bay and snow on the mountains, the day couldn´t be more beautiful for an Icelandic whale-watching adventure. We sailed into the bay and found lots of seabirds, and a little bit later lots of whales! To our pleasant surprise, four humpback whales were swimming side by side, surfacing calmly and occasionally showing us their flukes. Two of them got incredibly close to the boat - some people even got splashed with whale blow! After some time admiring these beautiful gentle giants we continued further into the bay. Not a minute later we encountered a quick minke whale. We saw the individual come up for a couple of surfaces, but she was heading in the opposite direction of us and swimming quite fast, so we decided to leave her do her own thing. We sailed back to Reykjavík, admiring the beautiful landscape around us but also enjoying some nice hot drinks while the wind picked up.
