CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 0900

Report from Elding: We set off this morning in search of more cetaceans. As we left the harbour the sea was a little calmer than expected but the waves did get bigger throughout the tour especially when facing west where the wind was coming from. We sailed around trying to keep a bit of shelter from the wind so it was as comfortable as possible. Quite a few rainbows showed themselves which was exciting. We even had a quick stop at Lundey and got to see many cute puffins and other seabirds such as the black guillemot. Then suddenly the dorsal fin of a minke whale appeared on our left. We then turned to it and got to see it surface another couple of times before it vanished. Unfortunately it was a very shy minke. So we then carried on and hoped we would see it or another species again. But it was not to be today. We therefore handed out complimentary tickets so our passengers can come back again and hopefully get to see a little more cetacean activity.
