Tour at 13:00

This afternoon the sea state was much worse. We sailed a really long time and just found one single white-beaked dolphin which surfaced a couple of times around the boat but then disappeared. Quite strange to see this dolphin alone, and even more strange that we have seen solitary dolphins for the past 3 days now! We sailed on and decided to go back to Hafnarfjörður harbour as the wind direction was very bad to sail back to Reykjavík. As we were very close to Hafnarfjörður harbour some of our passengers were able to spot 3-4 harbour porpoises a couple of times, but they were easily lost behind the big waves!

Tour at 9:00

This morning we had an extra tour at 9am. We expected pretty rough seas today but it wasn't too bad this morning after all! We sailed out and came across a pretty big group of harbour porpoises which we were really able to enjoy. They came really close to the boat and everyone had a good look at them! In the same area suddenly the captain spotted a Minke whale! We were really happy to see this whale, especially since we haven't seen them for the past two days. We could watch this whale surfacing a few times before it disappeared into the waves. We sailed on and quite a while later we spotted another Minke whale! Again we could see it several times surfacing before going for a long dive, at which point we sailed back to the harbour.
