Tour at 17:00 and 20:30

Cancelled due to the strong wind in the bay.

Tour at 13:00

The wind was still blowing quite strongly when we headed out. We saw a few Minke whales but again, they were being quite evasive and shy and immediately dived once we got closer. There were also some Porpoises which popped up next to the boat for a minute. The tour ended really nicely with a visit to the Puffin Island but because the whales we saw were so far away and difficult to spot, free tickets were handed out.

Tour at 09:00

Quite a lot of wind in the bay this morning. After a nice visit to Puffin island Akurey, we found several Minke whales. Only one of them came close to our boat, the Hafúlan. Really close, maybe 30 metres away, it surfaced just in front of us, breathing out a big white cloud of blow. After that, it went for a deeper dive, so we continued to look. Amazingly, there were many Gannets feeding all over the bay, diving into the water at high speeds and taking out fish. An alright but slightly bumpy tour.
