Tour at 20:30

We started out by going to see the beautiful Puffins in Akurey. Again they were so many around the island and after staying there for a little while we headed on. We sailed out of the mist that came during the middle of the day when we headed further out and the sea was very still and quiet. Soon after we got out to Faxaflói bay we spotted a calm Minke Whale that we were able to follow for quite some time and it surfaced many times very close to the boat. We then decided to head further out where we found another Minke Whale that was a lot more difficult since it was changing directions so many times making it hard for us to follow but still surfacing several times close to the boat. We then took a chance and went even further out in hope to find some White-beaked Dolphins and believe it or not we found a beautiful pod of them with two calves, one really small and another one that was little bit bigger and the young ones were so playful breaching out of the water again and again while the sun was sitting down. What a trip to end the day

Tour at 17:00

This evening we headed straight out to the whale watching area. After some time we spotted the blow of a Minke Whale and later on also the whale by itself. We followed this animal for a short time and headed then further out. After that we found two Minke Whales in the same area and could follow them for quite some time and they surfaced often and close to the boat. Then we headed out to another hot whale watching area and found also two Minke Whales there. One of them surfaced three times only 7 meters from the boat, pretty amazing! On our way back to the harbour we went to Akurey and visited the cute puffins once more. Great tour!

Tour at 14:00 We had a wonderful tour this after noon. First stop was Akurey and we were not disappointed with all the Puffins flying around the island. And then we head from Hafúlan that was already out in Faxaflói. Eventually we got to the area as well when they were about to head back to the harbour and there we saw all the Minke Whales. They were coming up to the surface all around us rolling in the surface so we could see the belly so full that it was pink and they were also rolling under the surface so we could see the white belly through the water, lunge feeding and all the birds feeding around us as well. Absolutely fantastic tour.

Tour at 13:00

The weather was very nice when we headed out again this afternoon, no wind and misty sun. Lots of puffins at Akurey, flying and sitting on the surface all around it. Out in the bay we first spotted a pod of very nice harbour porpoises. They surfaced very close, many times, all around the boat. Further we spotted and we could also smell two minke whales but they only surfaced three times so we decided to go much further out and try our luck there. And the luck was with us this time. In an area we found lots of feeding birds and many very busy feeding minke whales. Absolutely amazing show we got. Plunge feeding, lunges feeding, turning the white-pink belly up many times very close to us, and coming up on the side so we saw the tail. One of the minke whales came up only 3-4 meters in front of us very slowly like it was people watching. So this is one of the best tours this season. Unforgettable tour;)

Tour at 09:00

We headed out in a beautiful calm sea and spotted a lot of puffins on Akurey. Then we headed further out but even before we reached our normal whale watching area we spotted a pod of Harbour Porpoises. The sea was so calm that we always saw something surfacing the whole tour long. We saw a lot of Minke Whales on this tour and also some Dolphins. Very often the White Beaked Dolphins came amazingly close to the boat, sometimes just 2 or 3 meters away from us, so that we could nearly touch them. After that we spotted even more Minke Whales also on our way back to the harbour. Really amazing tour!
