Difficult days lately on the bay

It's fair to say that the last weeks have been very dissapointing with regards to whale watching. November turned out to be statistically our worst month ever, both when considering the number of non sighting tours and the number of cancelled tours. The weather is largely to be blamed but one can't help wondering what else could influence this situation.

We were therefore really happy last week when a humback whale was seen near Hafnarfjöður. Reflecting on the situation in January and February 2012, when we saw humpbacks and killer whales in the same area day after day, we naturally got our hopes up. Unfortunately that was not the case this time around and now we've run four tours in a row without any signs of cetaceans.

Submission is never an option and it's important for us to keep running our tours despite the bad luck lately. We never know when the cetacean will make an appearance and we surely want to be around when they do. By experience we know that it is possible to see cetacean in our area this time of the year and untill proven otherwise we'll keep going.
