Today we spotted the first Minke whale of the season - what a pleasant surprise!
The Minke whale is the smalles of the baleen whale family and can reach up to 10 metres and weigh around 10 tons. They can be seen in the Icelandic waters from early March until late October, so seeing this Minke so early in the year must mean that Spring is just around the corner!
