All whale watching tours from Reykjavík have been cancelled due to unfavourable conditions in the bay!

Today was packed with unforgettable action, from over 20 feeding humpback whales, breaching, rolling, and even bubble-netting, to 6+ minke whales surfacing throughout the bay. We were also joined by a few playful white-beaked dolphins, who leapt and bow-rode near feeding whales. This day was a full-on feeding frenzy from start to finish!

All tours today were bursting with activity as we encountered up to 11 humpback whales across the bay with incredible surface feeding, pectoral slaps, fluke dives and even breaches! Pods of white-beaked dolphins joined in on the feast, and plenty of minke whales and even a few rare fin whales were spotted, making for a truly spectacular day out at sea.

Today we saw humpback whales, some tours even as many as nine individuals showing fluke dives, pectoral slaps, and bubble feeding. Playful pods of white-beaked dolphins joined the action, often interacting with whales or surfing the waves. Conditions ranged from calm seas to sunny skies, with plenty of seabirds feasting at the surface alongside!

Today’s tours featured a range of sightings, including resting and bubble-net feeding humpback whales, fast-travelling white-beaked dolphins, and brief visits from minke whales and harbour porpoises. Highlights included fluke dives, rolling whales, lunge feeding, and an unforgettable breaching display at sunset. A wildly successful day out at sea!

This morning featured minke whales feeding beneath diving seabirds, a brief sighting of harbour porpoises and playful white-beaked dolphins bow-riding near the boat. The afternoon brought spectacular action from five humpback whales, including surface lunges, fluke dives and peduncle throws! The evening tours ended up being cancelled due to weather.

This morning we found a calm humpback whale surfacing slowly and fluke-diving in the sunshine, with plenty of seabirds like puffins and gannets around. The afternoon tour featured a brief minke whale sighting, resulting in complimentary tickets. Choppy seas forced the rest of the day to be cancelled due to unfavourable conditions in the bay.

A thrilling day on Faxaflói bay with sightings of up to 6 humpback whales across multiple tours - fluke diving, logging, and lunge feeding near the boat! We also encountered numerous minke whales throughout the day, with some coming very close, and playful pods of white-beaked dolphins. Seabirds like puffins added charm to this sunny, action-filled day!
