TOUR ON SCHEDULE  | at 21:00

Report from Eldey: It was a crispy cold winter’s night with clear skies in Faxaflói. It was windy but we got more shelter closer to Mt Esja and we provided our passengers overalls to keep everyone warm and comfortable. Fairly early into the tour, we started seeing green hues through the camera. Northern lights were definitely starting! The only thing we needed was for them to get a little brighter in order for us to see them with the naked eye, too. We could also enjoy beautiful night skies with full moon and visible star constellations such as the Ursa Major just above mount Esja. -And sooo many shooting stars! We were giving it time and waiting but the lights didn’t get brighter, unfortunately.  For this reason, we gave all passengers a complimentary ticket to come on a northern lights cruise for free and try again within the next two years, and hopefully persistence pays off the next time!
