TOUR ON SCHEDULE | at 21:00

Report from Eldey & Hafsulan: The night started out cloudy with very little wind as we sailed out from the Old Harbour. Regardless of the cloud coverage, we were very optimistic since the sky was ment to clear up according to the weather forecast and to be good conditions for observing northern lights. Our passengers put on warm overalls and we were all set and only waiting for the clouds to break apart any moment. After one hour, we started seeing some stars as it was getting clearer and just over the mountain Esja, we could start capturing green hues with our cameras as they usually catch the lights before our eyes can. We were full of hope because this is how northern lights usually start, very faded, and then get brighter little by little. However, after a while it started to get cloudier again and we couldn’t see any lights in the skies anymore. Unfortunately, this is what happens sometimes when chasing northern lights. After all, we are dealing with Mother Nature and have no control over the phenomenon in the skies. Therefore we gave everyone a complimentary ticket to come again on a tour for free within the next two years.
