Report from Eldey and Hafsúlan: Wow, we did not even have time to put on our overalls as lights were already going when we left the harbour on two boats tonight. Just above Mt Esja there was a patch where the clouds had a gap and it shone brightly. With our cameras we could make out an arch behind the clouds going into Hvalfjöður so we went out further than usually to get beyond the clouds. So after a quick paced 20 minutes, we slowed down and finally had a clear, starfilled sky above us and still the northern lights. They were constant lights tonight, so not moving but rather changing in brightness for an entire TWO AND A HALF hours. How wonderful that they just stayed all through the night. That paired with little wind and calm seas made for a lucky night out for all our passengers.
