Report from Eldey: Clouds had finally left most of the sky clear when we left the harbour. So much that as soon as we entered the bay we could see a long line of green light stretching from one end of the horizon toward the other, only cut on one side by a patch of clouds, the Northern Lights were already showing themselves. The line didn't move much and the intensity didn't really change as we sailed further away from the lights of the city, but when we eventually got far enough the Northern Lights were almost gone. Suddenly, just above the horizon and half hidden by the clouds, a bright explosion of yellow, orange and red appeared out of nowhere! From there the Northern Lights started an incredible dance all over the sky and soon we were surrounded by an amazing show of bright green ribbons, edged on their lower part by an even brighter line of pink, moving incredibly fast. It was truly breathtaking and it was with smiles over every faces that we sailed back to Reykjavik while explosions of green were still occasionally happening behind the clouds over the horizon.
