Report from Eldey: When we left the harbour the sea was quite rough and the 20min away from the city lights a little bumpy. But after that our captain Otto found us a nice spot where we could wait for something to happen... The sky above us was clear and it was freezing cold. But we had to be patient. Within the first 1.5h we only saw very faint activity above Esja and the sea. But then the activity increased and a huge area creating a big arrow from the sea to Esja lightened up in light green. Amazing. The lights even moved a little bit and changed shape. After a little more than two hours we decided to return to the harbor. When we were watching the northern lights in our back, they got stronger and stronger. What a fantastic finish! They even changed from green to yellow and orange, moved around quickly and lightened up in numerous shapes. BREATHTAKING!!! Suddenly there were northern lights everywhere. What a fantastic and spectacular night! UNFORGETTABLE...
