Report from Eldey: Northern lights are always a wonder to admire and a very unpredictable phenomena. We sailed with our batteries fully charged and ready to face cold temperatures (thermometer showed staggering 0°C) while we were witnessing the beauty of the Imagine Peace Tower in one of the island near Reykjavik. Some constellations were visible in the sky, rising up our hopes to see auroras (according to the Icelandic say "if you see stars you can see northern lights"). The moon, in decrescendo, appeared in between the clouds creating a phantasmagoric optical effect (some said "a Halloween moon"). Unfortunately, the northern lights decided to take a night-off and we missed the show. Nonetheless, we offered to our passengers complimentary tickets so they can try one more time.
