Report from Elding: Incredible night that I won't ever forget! That's the only thing I can think about tonight! It's not only a matter of the amazing northern lights that we had (one of the best, if not the best northern lights of the season so far. It isn't the fact that the lights appeared almost from the beginning, were covering the whole sky all night long, showed themselves in several colours and were even dancing. No, it was specially because of the extra: an asteroid, an incredible huge one, crossed the whole sky from south to north just to disappear behind the mountains of Esja!!! The meteorite was literally ploughing through the sky for several seconds, disintegrating itself slowly with small sparks exploding away from the astral body and, most likely, landed somewhere in the mainland, not far away from the Reykjavik area. It was an incredible sight, one of those events that happen one in 100 lifetimes! What an outstanding night out in the bay!
