Report from Eldey: What a ride in the cold Icelandic winter night. The sky was covered in clouds when we left the old harbor of Reykjavik. The swell and wind were quite strong when we sailed out of the harbor. But as soon as we reached the shelter of the islands off the coast the sea calmed down. Then we had to be patient to wait for the cloud cover to break open. Unfortunately, the patience of our passengers who even withstand minutes of very strong hail was not awarded. Even when the sky opened up from time to time we only got to see very faint northern lights. As those were not satisfactory at all, we offered complimentary tickets to give everyone the chance to see the northern light phenomena in another night.
