Report from Eldey: The forecast for the northern lights looked promising as the cloud cover was due to dissipate as the night grew older. The clouds were quite thick to begin with as a fresh layer of snow was settling shortly before boarding, but as the forecast predicted we finished the tour with a predominantly clear sky. Around 22.30 a very thin band of aurora were visible with the use of a camera but not with the naked eye. This was the only activity we saw for the evening and as a result complimentary tickets were issued.
