Report from Eldey: No luck with Auroras tonight! It was a windy night with mostly cloudy sky as we sailed out on our northern lights hunt. The forecast was very promising in terms of aurora activity and the thin layer of clouds was clearing up a little bit above Mt Esja where the lights usually first appear. We gave it time, observing and photographing the sky to see if there was any light patches gradually turning green. To our big surprise, there seemed to be no activity at all tonight, contrary to the promising predictions. Since this phenomenon is up to the Mother Nature sometimes it can be very tricky and we end up seeing no lights despite of expectations and forecasts. We want to make sure that everyone has a second chance of hunting down northern lights and therefore gave all our passengers a complimentary ticket allowing to come on another cruise with us within the next two years.
