NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 22:00
Report from Eldey: Tonight we were saddened by the fact it was our last northern lights cruise for this season but happy to be able to confirm its departure as the cloud cover and weather has meant we have had to cancelled the days previous.
It was a bright evening and still daylight when passengers started to arrive. By about 11pm it was dark enough but it was still quite cloudy, which was not forecasted. Throughout the night large gaps in the low cloud allowed us to see some beautiful star constellations like Ursa Major and Cassiopeia but unfortunately the aurora activity also diminished and even if we had clear skies it was unlikely that we would have see the lights. It was still a stunningly beautiful evening with the Reykjavik lit up and the almost full moon (two days away) rose above the horizon bright and large. In light of the fact we didn’t see any northern lights on this tour we offered our passengers complimentary tickets in the hope they will return to Iceland another time to see the amazing phenomena we call the Aurora Borealis or simply the Northern Lights.
Happy Easter Everyone.
