Today was a bit windy, but we enjoyed nice calm seas. It didn't take us long to find 2 humpback whales between the islands! We split our time between the two, and as they got sleepy, we were lucky to be able to watch them super close to the boat, resting. As we headed back, we all warmed up with some nice hot chocolate!
We had calm seas waiting for us as we sailed into the bay. After only 13 minutes we had already found a feeding humpback whale! Since we didn't want to overstay our welcome, we headed further out and sailed towards Hvalfjörður, where we spotted another humpback whale and even saw a third humpback whale on our way home!

An hour into the tour, a big gap opened up and we could see Jupiter - and then we heard a loud noise - it turned out to be 2 humpback whales feeding! Despite this happy surprise, we saw no auroras so we issued complimentary tickets!

Due to unfavourable conditions in the bay, our whale watching tour from Reykjavík has been cancelled today!

The forecast was good, indicating strong magnetic activity, and the skies were super clear. Tonight did not disappoint! As soon as we left the marina we already had northern lights, stretching in a wide arch, all the way to mt. Esja.
It was the first whale watching tour of December, and although the weather was chilly, the sky was clear and blue. After 30 minutes, we spotted 2 humpback whales that were surfacing regularly and fluking a lot. We also saw a pod of 2-4 shy harbour porpoises and one more humpback whale as we started to make our way back home.
On the last morning tour of the year, we sailed out into darkness, with little wind. After about 30 minutes we spotted a humpback whale very close to our boat! In the afternoon we quickly found our friendly feeding humpback whale once more! We also spotted 2 harbour seals before coming back to the whale on our way home.

Shortly after we left port, the skies cleared out and we got very hopeful. However, the auroras did not show themselves tonight, so after a bit of sightseeing, we sailed back home and issued complimentary tickets for another time.
This cold winter morning, we had calm seas and were ready to spot some wildlife! We quickly found 2 humpback whales swimming side-by-side, close to our boat! The afternoon tour saw a blow from a feeding humpback whale shortly into the tour, and then found a second humpback whale behind Viðey island also seemingly feeding!

We sailed out under a clear, starry sky when faint northern lights appeared above us and stayed with us all night long. In the end we decided to issue complimentary tickets so everyone could have a chance to see them in all their glory.
The morning tour was cancelled due to weather, but we sailed in the afternoon, and what a time we had! We hit the water with the wind in our hair and the sun shining bright. After about 20 minutes, we spotted two humpback whales, fluking like crazy! We also got a surprise visit from a couple of harbour seals popping up beside us!
Today’s tours featured a delightful juvenile humpback whale. In the morning, we spotted it outside the islands, thrilling everyone with a fluke dive. In the afternoon, braving the rain and swell, we returned to find the same juvenile and spent plenty of time at the surface and even came close to the boat, giving us an unforgettable close-up.
