- NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 21:00
Before out tour even started we could see the partial lunar eclipse which was so cool. A bright moon is usually not a good combination to watch the auroras, but this time the northern lights were strong enough to pierce through the moonlight. We took awesome pictures of the lights dancing, the moon and the Imagine Peace Tower together.
We saw about 4-5 white-beaked dolphins this morning, then at least two humpback whales, beautifully showing its fluke as well as a minke whale. In the afternoon we went to a similar area and quite quickly found one of the humpback whales from this morning as well as 3 white-beaked dolphins appeared jumping in big splashes.

As we got out we could see many stars in the night sky and also had a great view of the Imagine Peace Tower as we waited patiently in hope some northern lights would appear. Unfortunately, this was not the case, so we gave out complimentary tickets so our passengers can come back again another night!
This morning we had pastel colours in the sky, almost no wind and a calm sea on this chilly day. Not too long into our tour we spotted a harbour porpoise, then a minke whale surfacing really nicely and next a humpback whale! In the afternoon we also saw a minke whale as well as another humpback whale!

We headed out and hoped for the best. The clouds that were not supposed to be present tonight were blocking our view and although we started seeing some gaps later on, we still saw no northern lights. Unfortunately tonight was not the night, so we offered our passengers complimentary tickets as we headed back to shore!
This morning the water was super flat all the way through the ride. We eventually spotted around 10 white-beaked dolphins displaying for us different behaviours such as bow riding, jumping, socialising and traveling. In the afternoon we spotted a tall blow in the distance, that turned out to be a humpback whale and later we also found a minke whale!

With clear skies, we were optimistic for tonight's probability. Not long after we left the harbour, we detected an arch starting to form through our cameras. As we sailed further into the darkness, the northern lights became brighter and greener, and before we knew it a second arch had formed underneath it!
In the morning we saw a pod of white beaked dolphins and also encountered about 5 harbour porpoises. After a good amount of sailing in the afternoon, we ended in an area where we noticed fins of about 15 white-beaked dolphins, some even jumping all around us!

There was a slight cloud coverage tonight but we could still see the stars as we started our sail out in the bay. We headed toward mount Esja and close to the islands hoping for some activity, but the sky got more cloudy during the tour and unfortunately no northern light were seen. We therefore offered our passengers complimentary tickets!
It didn't take too long to find wildlife this morning as we spotted a minke whale just metres from our front, then a pod of 15-20 very spaced out white-beaked dolphins! In the afternoon we also saw a minke whale, however as we go closer it completely disappeared. We therefore we decided to give out complimentary tickets to all our passengers!

This evening was windless and full of stars, making us hopeful that we would get lucky. We sailed out of the harbour, having a look at the beam of the Imagine Peace Tower on Viðey island. Even though the conditions were perfect tonight, the activity never picked up, so we offered our passengers complimentary tickets.
We sailed out in Faxaflói, admiring sunrise for a while, when we spotted a tall blow in the distance which turned out to be a humpback whale, then a pod of 6-7 white-beaked dolphins, travelling calmly. In the afternoon we found 2 pods of harbour porpoises that surfaced nicely and then also about 10 minke whales!
We had lovely calm conditions on the water today, although it was bitterly cold. In all, we spotted 2 harbour porpoises, 3-5 minke whales including one that came a bit closer and about 3-5 white-beaked dolphins on our tours today, including a smaller juvenile in this pod sticking very close to its mother!

It was a silent night, we could see some stars but soon the clouds came and covered the sky. Unfortunately we weren't able to see the fantastic northern lights, so we handed out complimentary tickets to our passengers to have another opportunity to view them in the future.

There were gaps predicted in the clouds however we were not lucky enough for them to form. We enjoyed the music and hot chocolates but sadly were not successful in seeing the aurora borealis. Therefore we gave out complimentary tickets so that everyone is able to have another chance to try again.
