Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey and Hafsúlan for the 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tour. Make sure to dress according to weather, as it is usually colder at sea than on land.

Report from Eldey and Hafsúlan: what a lovely day to do whale watching! On this cold, but beautiful day, we sailed out to see our favorite animals. Right when we left the harbour, we spotted a pod of 3 harbour porpoises passing by. Continuing our way, we went to the same area where we saw a whale on the last couple of days and bingo! A humpback whale beautifully going for a deep dive, the big and wide fluke going up and then down. What a beautiful sighting. This individual was not spending a long time underwater; maybe 3 minutes until we got to see it again. Before we even went to go to explore other areas, it breached! The full body of this one slammed the surface and splashed around, making us all amazed by it! We then left this individual, and when exploring other spots, we got to see a pod of 10 white-beaked dolphins, calmly swimming. They came closer to us, but as soon as other boats came, they started to speed up and swim away from us. So we decided to come back to the humpback we had in the beginning. We spent a while with it, amazed that this one got very close to us and we could hear the loud blow of it. Beautiful! So then we decided to come back to the harbour, enjoying the sunset on the silouete of the buildings of Reykjavik.
