We were hopeful with the forecast for this evening. We made a quick stop at the Imagine Peace Tower where we found 2 humpback whales! Soon after we saw faint green northern lights but due to the quality we ended up issuing complimentary tickets.
We were enjoying the beautiful sunrise this morning when a minke whale suddenly popped up. Shortly after, we spotted the blow of a couple of humpback whales! We were then surprised by another solitary minke whale! In the afternoon we again found a minke whale and 2-4 humpback whales, some of which were feeding. What a great way to end a wonderful afternoon close to shore!

We started the tour off with strong northern lights overhead! The snow beautifully reflected enough light for us to be able to enjoy the mountainy landscape, together with the city lights and the Imagine Peace Tower until we headed back home.

Due to unfavourable weather conditions, we have decided to cancel the Northern Lights Cruise tonight!
Everything was covered in snow as we left the harbour this morning. We found a minke whale and managed to see it surface a few times. In the afternoon the weather was still a challenge with thick snowfall, so the visibility was quite low and no wildlife was seen during the tour. Despite our best efforts, both tours offered complimentary tickets for another try.

With many layers and hot chocolate in hand, we sailed out to enjoy the city lights before heading to admire the Imagine Peace Tower. With the clear skies, we saw a faint band of northern lights forming above mt. Esja that just kept getting brighter!
We went around the islands again and soon found a pair of humpback whales between the islands before catching a glimpse of a speedy minke whale and another one by Viðey island. In the afternoon we saw a minke whale and the 2 humpback whales again swimming side by side! One of them began tail throwing and tail slapping repeatedly, leaving us in awe!

It was a cold October morning as we headed to the islands where we had seen wildlife yesterday. We soon found a very cute little harbour seal who briefly checked us out before we found the same pair of humpback whales from the day before. In the afternoon, we again found the pair of humpback whales from this morning that were logging and fluke diving.
We didn't have to travel far at all this morning, as we spotted 2-3 minke whales right outside the harbour walls, a pod of 3-4 harbour porpoises nearby and 2 humpback whales near Viðey island! In the afternoon we found the 2 humpback whales and the 2 minke whales from the morning tour! All in all, a great day spotting wildlife so very near the city!

We started off by passing by the coastline of Reykjavík and viewed the Imagine Peace Tower while we waited for the lights to come out! Soon enough, there were very faint northern lights on the top of Esja that only got stronger and stronger!
