The sun was slowly rising, casting pinks and orange hues across a sleepy bay. We soon found 2 very relaxed humpback whales and 3 harbour porpoises. In the afternoon, we encountered 2 grey seals that popped their head up right next to us! As we continued our journey, we spotted the same 2 humpback whales as before and got to enjoy their presence for a while!

We could see faint northern lights as soon as we left the harbour. We made a stop by Viðey island to admire the Imagine Peace Tower, but sadly the lights never got stronger, so we handed out complimentary tickets to all our passengers.

The sea was calm and the Imagine Peace Tower was incredible to watch in the pitch darkness, but even better, the fantastic northern lights came out and formed variously shaped arches in the sky above us - and what a joy to watch!

This morning we set out before sunrise to get the most of the day! We searched around the islands and before long spotted a sleepy humpback whale outside Skarfabakki. After seeing its unique fluke pattern, we could identify it as our friend Banana! In the afternoon we were lucky to find the resting humpback whale again, just a few minutes into the tour.

The day started out with some rain, but it didn't take us very long before we found a logging humpback whale. We watched it relax on the surface and even got some fluke dives. In the afternoon we got to enjoy the coast guard's safety drill by helicopter before finding a humpback whale! We were again very lucky to see this beautiful animal so close to shore.

We sailed out with virtually flat seas and clear sky. We had a look at the Imagine Peace Tower and enjoyed nice views of Reykjavík, but sadly no northern lights appeared despite our best efforts, so we issued complimentary tickets to all passengers.

Under the pink skies of the rising sun, we saw the blow of a humpback whale. This individual was quite curious and surfaced close to us! After a while it even started to move its pectoral fins and treated us to that wonderful fluke dive! In the afternoon we saw a humpback whale. After multiple surfacing sequences, we were treated to a fluke dive under the sunset!

Due to unfavorable weather conditions, we have decided to cancel the Northern Lights Cruise tonight!

• NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 21:00

We stopped by the Imagine Peace Tower and got some nice views of Reykjavík in the beautiful conditions. While there were some faint northern lights seen, we decided to issue complimentary tickets so our guests could enjoy them in all their glory.

We sailed out into a bumpy bay in wet snowfall. Due to the conditions, we decided to sail around the islands, and finally saw a minke whale and suddenly a humpback whale! In the afternoon, we had very similar weather, this time a bit more rainy, but that didn't stop us from exploring the bay. We soon found a minke whale, as well as the humpback whale from before!

The forecast was promising and as we headed out into the bay we saw faint northern lights that got a little bit stronger before disappearing completely. Unfortunately they did not return, so we issued complimentary tickets to all our guests.

We sailed out into a calm bay and stumbled upon 10-15 white-beaked dolphins. We also saw two humpback whales! In the afternoon we saw a blow near the islands close to Reykjavík - it was from our friend, Banana the humpback whale! As we made our way further into the bay we found a second humpback whale, feeding - and we even got a glimpse of a grey seal!

The sky was clear and full of stars. As we sailed along the coast we we were able to pick up a faint northern lights with our cameras, but as they didn't really show up until our return to the harbour, we issued complimentary tickets to all our passengers.

With light rain, we sailed out this morning and soon we encountered a logging humpback whale! We also found about 3-5 harbour porpoises as well as a minke whale on the horizon! In the afternoon we encountered a pod of 3 harbour porpoises and about 3 humpback whales, all of them showing us their flukes. Then, a minke whale popped up at the harbour entrance!
