After 2,5 days of cancelled tours, we sailed out towards Hafnarfjörður in the afternoon and soon saw huge blows coming up from the surface. We had found a total of 3 humpback whales (one of which was our friend Pongo)! There was one pair very actively lunge feeding together under a large flock of northern gannets!

The forecast was good, so we headed out in good hopes. We were able to see very faint northern lights, however they never got strong to the naked eye, so we issued our very patient passengers some complimentary tickets.
We set off along the Reykjanes peninsula again to the same spot as yesterday - here we got very lucky once again, as we had found 4 humpback whales! There was a solo one that we travelled past as there was already a boat with it, so we carried on as we had seen another 3 close together, all lunge feeding lots as well as rolling!

The conditions were great as we sailed out this evening. We could see faint northern lights as soon as we were out of the harbour and our patience was rewarded with a beautiful display just in time before we headed back!
Today we sailed out with beautiful weather and headed to Hafnarfjörður, as the whales had moved on from Reykjavík yesterday. There, we found 3 humpback whales feeding! They were all surfacing in different directions, until the end of the tour where two of them came together for a lovely feast. It was an incredible tour!
After searching near the islands and surrounding areas, we realised that the whale that had been feeding there for the last week had finally decided to move on. So, we decided to head further out into the bay, in the direction of Hvalfjörður. Unfortunately we didn't find any whales or dolphins today, so we offered everyone complimentary tickets!

The forecast was very promising, however, the beginning of the tour was full of snow showers. We saw a faint northern lights a while into the tour and decided to stay out longer so we could enjoy them as they grew stronger!
We set off this afternoon with the sun creeping through the clouds and had some interesting weather throughout the tour. The highlight, however - seeing a humpback whale! It popped up very randomly and we got to see a few amazing fluke dives too which was very cool. We also saw 2 grey seals nearby, before returning to the harbour.

The weather today was quite moody, with lots of snow before we left the harbour. We soon found a humpback whale in between the islands near Reykjavík. It was a little shy at first, but soon started taking breaths and showing us its fluke in between dives. There was also a curious seal that popped up for a quick look at our passengers.
